My quarantine has become a rut. Wake up at nine, eat a small breakfast, do my school work, and then enjoy the rest of the day outside. Every single day. The quarantine started out as a fun possibility to an extended summer vacation over a simple health scare that would blow over in no time, right? How wrong I was. As of writing this I’ve been on crutches for three months, and my surgery date hasn’t been confirmed, so I’m forced to abstain from all the fun things I could be doing and replace them with less productive things. Running with crutching, playing replaced by monumental and crushing boredom. It’s not fun at all. But it has given me time to think, ironically, because my deep philosophical mind is the one thing my friends hate about me. I bore them to death with huge what if’s and why’s all the time, but I can’t help it, it’s just in my nature. It [the quarantine] has made me wonder what I would be doing right now if I wasn’t practically useless. I could be riding my bike, or teaching my little brother how to skateboard without busting his head, or going for walks. It just makes me sad. And even more so to think people spend their entire lives like this. But nevertheless I plug on, trying to make fun and quirky memories for my children and for myself, because why waste such a horrible and diseased piece of gold, when deep down, it’s still gold?
Okay, my hands are getting tired from all that writing, so I’ll end today’s entry here.
The date is June 1st, 2020
Have a good one reader.
