COVID-19 Safety

COVID-19 Safety Policy for NWS Events (updated March 2022)

The continued safety of our attendees, authors, volunteers, and staff is our main priority. Masks are highly recommended for all in-person events (regardless of vaccination status), and we request that everyone continue to be masked properly while in the City Opera House.

Some future events may require proof of vaccination to attend. If that is the case, that information will be shared on both the NWS website and the City Opera House website. You will need to show your vaccination card or a photo of it when you arrive at the venue. No exceptions can be made for those who forget their cards. Masks will still be required.

Our in-person events are no longer operating with a limited capacity. We do still continue to encourage social distancing when possible at the City Opera House before, during, and after the event. If you would like to distance further at the event, you will have the opportunity to select from unsold seats elsewhere in the Opera House. Visit the City Opera House box office to request a new seating assignment.

If you do not feel well or if you have had contact with someone who is sick, please tune in via our livestream. We are happy to convert your in-person ticket to a virtual ticket!

Thank you for understanding and working with us to keep all who love NWS safe. We are currently observing recommendations, guidelines, and best practices from Munson Healthcare, the CDC, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and the Grand Traverse County Health Department.
