Day 1: Well, they actually did it. The virus has gotten to the point of forcing the schools to shut down, and forcing us to stay at home. I don’t think this has happened before in the US, so everyone is going through this, well, kinda together.
Day 8: I think I’m going to make this a weekly thing, so I can just summarize the whole week instead of summarizing a single day. There shouldn’t be too many entries though, cause this “self isolation” stuff won’t last long, will it? Anyway, this week has been pretty fun. No school, no friends, just family. But I heard that the schools are going to get us to do online classes. Honestly, it sounds like a good change of pace, at least for me, because family can sometimes get annoying (*cough, Tyler, cough*). I hope that the schools do something, though, because I didn’t get all of the available highschool credit classes just to not finish them.
Day 15: Well, the schools actually did it. We now have online classes to check into every day. I think this will get old, because it’s school, but for now it’s a nice change of pace, and a little review of where we left off in the year. I wonder if the work actually counts toward our grades for the final quarter, cause even if it doesn’t, I’m doing it, if at least just to know everything I need to know for high school next year. Anyway, back to the reason this… journal? Diary? No, diary makes it seem like I’m complaining to a random person who reads this in the future. Wait…
Day 22: After a week of online learning, I can officially tell myself that school has never been easier. I get all of my schoolwork done in an hour, and when we answer questions, I get everything right. And, a little loophole I found, my math and my science teachers both post their work for the next day late at night. Lucky for me, I stay up late at night, so I can get my assignments done before I even have to do them! This makes schoolwork in the morning a lot easier, because I don’t have to do as much in the morning as I normally would have to. The only downside I see is that the teacher can’t help anyone as fast as they would in person. Instead, the student has to send a private comment to the teacher, and the teacher has to see it and respond, which might take hours if the teacher is doing something else. Anyway, life is well, and family isn’t as annoying as before. I can actually get some peace and quiet if I need it. Anyway, I’m going to sleep, I’ll write more in the morning.
Day 54: You might notice the gap of time in between entries, and I can explain. I lost the journal. I mean, I could have just used a substitute, but I didn’t want to have to worry about two different journals that anyone could read, but I did tell Tyler that if he read it I would brain him with it, so I think I might be good. This will be my last entry, because it seems that the quarantine is winding down a bit, with the state opening up more stores, but I might come back to this, if even only to vent about something. If I may quote The Terminator, “I’ll be back.” Till next time, Dear Reader, Tanner Hawley
