Telling stories is a natural part of our day-to-day communication. But what happens when we transform the story from anecdote to art form? This workshop focuses on the art and craft of personal storytelling as a performance art. Students will learn how to develop and perform a true, first-person narrative for a live audience. Lessons will go from brainstorming to taking a bow, focusing on finding the story to tell, following the basic elements of story, and making that story entertaining forthe stage. The class will culminate in a live storytelling performance featuring students in this class.

All students will have the opportunity to publish their work in the 2025 NWS Literary Journal.
