While there are stories of Bigfoot sightings in Michigan, our state, particularly West Michigan, is known for the Dogman! Standing seven feet tall on its hind legs, the Dogman is said to live in the Manistee National Forest, where it watches lumberjacks and hunters. In this class, we’ll read stories of local legends, write about an encounter with a famous creature, and invent our own beast that appears near our homes.
All enrolled students will have the opportunity to publish work in the 2027 issue of the National Writers Series’ literary journal.
