David Tabolt brings to the NWS Board of Directors insights and experience gained over five decades as a writer, editor, and marketing and communications adviser to some of the nation’s largest public companies and the world’s leading professional services organizations.
He began his career as a cub reporter for his hometown newspaper in Erie, PA, then spent a decade with The Associated Press in Pittsburgh, New York, and Chicago. After a dozen years with leading public relations agencies, David was recruited to head the global assurance marketing team for Arthur Andersen. Following Andersen’s Enron-related collapse, he became global director for communications at Baker McKenzie, the world’s first truly global law firm.
David and his wife, Lisa Genesen, have been Leelanau Country homeowners for nearly 30 years. They split their time between their homes on Lime Lake near Cedar, MI, and in Chicago. They are avid skiers, proud supporters of the Leelanau Conservancy and Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail and delighted to have been asked to help build the reputation and reach of the National Writers Series.
