When and how did the true crime genre become so insanely popular with American readers? NWS will investigate the evolution of the true crime genre with Aphrodite Jones, a New York Times bestselling author and the former host and executive producer of the television series, True Crime with Aphrodite Jones. She will take the stage with Clark Bunting, the former top executive of Discovery Channel, who helped create Investigation Discovery, which solidified Aphrodite as a leading figure in the true crime world.

Aphrodite has devoted decades to reporting on America’s most shocking murder cases: O.J. Simpson, Scott Peterson, Jon Benet Ramsey, Casey Anthony, and others. She will talk about how early tragedy in her own life led to an unusual career choice, why true crime books matter in society, and how she leans on her enduring faith to cope with the darkness of the nation’s most heinous crimes.  She’ll also talk about her latest bestselling book, Levi’s Eyes, available for sale at the event.

The event begins at 7 p.m. and includes a Q and A and author signing. The doors open at 6 pm with live music, a cash bar and delicious cookies!
