Become a member of the National Writers Series Youth Board! In this amazing volunteer opportunity, you’ll help create fun writing classes for you and your friends, pick writers and influencers to hold events in Traverse City, use your social media skills to advertise classes and events, and make new writer-y friends from lots of different schools. You’ll collaborate with your peers to advise Education Director Audrey Irontree to help build the future of the National Writers Series Raising Writers program. The Youth Board is open to 7th-12th graders and will meet monthly.

Audrey Irontree
Audrey Irontree is a fiction writer, developmental editor, ghostwriter and educator, and the education director for the National Writers Series. She received her Master of Fine Arts in Fiction degree from Northwestern University, her Bachelor of Arts from Brown University and her Associate Degree from The Bard College at Simon’s Rock. Her short story, “The Toad,” recently appeared in the Portland Review, and her short story, “Koan,” was featured in Meridian, University of Virginia’s literary journal. She is also the Editor-in-Chief of Muse Literary, an award-winning small, independent publisher. She lives in Traverse City and loves to read, paint, make pottery and garden.
