Marina Call is the Director of Marketing for the National Writers Series. Born and raised in California, Marina Call spent her summers in Spain. After graduating from U.C. Santa Barbara in Art History she moved to Italy to complete a M.B.A with an emphasis in Marketing. She was hired as the International Sales and Marketing Director for Venere.com, an online hotel reservation website. Venere.com was later purchased by Expedia.com.
Teaching is also one of her passions. She was Professor of Economics and Business at the University of Alicante, Spain and taught Spanish through TCAPS in Traverse City. She is fluent in Spanish and Italian and started learning Russian through a Northwestern Michigan College course and now is on her 7th year of private Russian instruction. Marina is a novel writer in her spare time and travels whenever her passport is not full. How did she get from Europe to Traverse City? Love, of course. It started on a Wednesday evening in Rome, when her Russian friend introduced her to Warren over a chess game. This is non-fiction. They currently live in downtown Traverse City with their children: Sofia and Winston.
